Last week I had the opportunity to work with Linda O'Horo on two separate assignments. The first was Wednesday morning when I met her and another student and watched them edit the Slice of Life video. I listened and watched her record the commentary and then observed the other student do the actual editing. They had already gone through all of the footage by this point and the amount of detailed notes Linda had taken about each scene was incredible. Of course, her having such detailed notes made the actual editing process go along much quicker because she already had a general idea of what she wanted to use.

On Friday, she asked me to come and help out with the Politics and Government panel discussion that was held in the afternoon. I got there about an hour early and was lucky enough to speak to two of the panelists for awhile-one of whom was a FOX News caster, the other a Pulitzer Prize Winner. Then I observed how the web streaming is done and also assisted in carrying the microphone around during the question and answer period. It was interesting for me to observe and participate in these two activities because it gave a little more insight into the news/technological side of the department which is of interest to me.
